About AMO
Aerodrome Meteorological Observation System (AMOS)
- This device monitors the weather conditions (rain, wind, air pressure, temperature, humidity, ceiling, RVR, etc.) near airport runways in real time for safe take-off and landing of aircrafts.
[Wind direction,Speed]
[Thermo-hygrometer]
[Ceilometer]
[Forward scatter meter]
[Visibility meter (transmittance method)]
Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR)
The Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) is an aerodrome weather radar system used for the
detection of cloud distribution, rainfall intensity, as well as turbulence such as windshear and
microburst near airports, to provide its products for forecasts, control towers, approach control centers, and air traffic control centers.
-
Low Level Windshear Alert System (LLWAS)
The Low Level Windshear Alert System (LLWAS) detects low-level windshear* and microburst*
on and near runways and their neighboring areas to provide warnings of gusts on the air route
for the safe landing and take-off of aircraft
-
World Area Forecast Receiving System (WAFS)
The World Area Forecasting Centre (WAFC)
makes WINTEM(Forecast upper wind and
temperature for aviation) and SIGWX
(Significant weather forecasts ) and provides
them to the world through the Internet. And
AMO also receives and provides high-level
SIGWX through WAFS.
